One of the most fun art projects to do this season is also the most simple. Students loved making characters out of super simple materials.
Each student gets:
- 1 Paper plate
- Markers: yellow and orange plus a dark color like black, purple, or navy blue
Students color circles on the paper plate, using its roundness as a guide. They'll color the bumpy part of the plate (the edge) yellow and then an orange donut right inside it. Leave a white circle in the center.
Cut the plate into quarters or smaller to create the triangular shapes of each member of the Candy Corn family.
Using a darker colored marker, they draw faces on each, showing personalities and gestures. They can draw arms, make them holding items, give some glasses or a hat. Perhaps there's a Candy Corn family pet?
